"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion"
Marketing, isn't that a clever little beast.
It convinces us to buy something that we know, on a deeper level, is not quite right and we really do not need it.
The companies which manufacture dogs food will 'guilt' you into buying their product even though you 'sense' it isn't right.
Listen to your deeper sense of feeling and do not fall for the 'marketing' pitch the manufacturers are selling to you.
The dog is a carnivore.
In case you doubt me, check out the taxonomy of the Animal Kingdom, see for your self.
In short this means you need to totally ignore all that marketing and start feeding your carinvore like it should. After all the digestive system is gear for it. By shear design the carnivore does NOT produce the necessary emzymes to break down the cell wall of vegetable and fruit matter so why are you feeding it to your carnivous pet?
A prey model diet IS, without doubt the best feeding regime so go for it, your carnivore will love you for it.
As a side note I have been down the many different roads when it comes to feeding; from commeriocally prepared dry food, including the premium brands to cooking 'the' loaf. As I have researched the topic of feeding my precious Weimaraners and my rescue cats, I am unequivocally convinced the best diet for them is one which their digestive system is designed for; a prey model diet.
I guess I have been more fortunate then most in that I have access to venison, kangaroo, duck, rabbit and hare as well as the domestic protien which includes sheep, cow and chicken.
